'Round Midnight won the 2006 New York Harmony Sweepstakes championship after they took the crowd and the judges by storm. 'Round Midnight is a musically savvy group that sings primarily in the barbershop style, but also ventures into other A Cappella genres including doo-wop and vocal jazz. Named after the old Thelonious Monk standard, their eclectic influences range from jazz to classical and everything in between. They have been featured in an array of events and showcases spanning the United States from New York to California, including an appearance at the legendary Lincoln Center in New York City, and were recently crowned as the 2007 Mid-Atlantic District Northern Division Champions.

Yes, Virginia, barbershop quarteting is alive and well in and around New York City! The Manhattan Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society www.barbershop.org has a long and august tradition of fostering quartets, the quintessential form for barbershop harmony. We take a good deal of pride too in the many fine quartets that have sprung from the ranks of the Big Apple Chorus. On the surface, our weekly chorus rehearsals don't necessarily give outward signs of just how lively quartet life is in our chapter, but there are several tell tale signs and a fine track record
Highline takes its name from the former elevated freight railroad on the lower west side of Manhattan built in the early 1930s. After years of abandonment, the Highline has begun the process of restoration and is being reborn into an elevated park - a greenway for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors to New York City. The quartet felt that this was an appropriate metaphor for their vision- taking forgotten songs from the past and giving them new birth through an a cappella style that is at once fresh and vibrant.
Highline's members have performed with the following noted a cappella groups - Harvard Krokodiloes; Princeton Tigertones; Heritage Station (1993 Collegiate Quartet Champions); and Ambassadors of Harmony (International Champion Chorus - BHS). The quartet is committed to entertaining at the highest level and their harmonies invite you to rise up from the city streets and step into a place apart - the Highline. Available immediately for booking. Send an email to highlinequartet@gmail.comor visit their website, highlinequartet.com
A quartet dedicated to the adage that “variety is the spice of life”, Bigtime! commands a repertoire remarkable in its scope, ranging from traditional ballads to original comedy, to Sinatra, to contemporary swing, and featuring hot charts from a variety of top arrangers, many from the fertile brain of the late great Roger Payne, a former quartet-mate and major inspiration. The men of Echo Chamber have been singing together since long before they were a quartet. As classmates at New York's Stuyvesant High School (on Chambers Street), they were part of numerous choral, musical and a cappella ensembles, and spent the afternoons and summers of their high school and college years spreading harmony across the four corners of the five boroughs.
As a quartet, they pay tribute to the music that brought them together while exploring new (and new-to-them) frontiers in barbershop and other a cappella styles. Echo Chamber is proud to share their young but growing tradition of vocal harmony with you.
Echo Chamber is Chris Granger (Tenor), Noah Van Gilder (Lead), Alex Lorimer (Baritone) and Aaron Greller (Bass).
Unfortunately, due to scheduling constraints, Echo Chamber is only available for weekend performances.
