The Big Apple Chorus

Who Are These Guys cont'd.

“Once a BACman – always a BACman” is another BAC phenomenon. Our supportive alumni are spread throughout the United States and around the Globe.

What is it that causes men to remain members of the BAC – for a decade or more – long after they’re unable to be active members? For many – this quote is the answer -- “Initially I decided to visit the BAC because of their music. Now I look forward to every rehearsal – in large part -- because of our BAC Culture of joy, laughter and brotherhood.

The variety of music you’ll experience when you visit the Big Apple Chorus is as diverse as it is enjoyable. Under the deft direction of Joe Hunter and his team of musical leaders, the BAC wends its way through a repertoire of Swing, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Broadway and Patriotic arrangements – all performed a cappella. Add to this -- its comical parodies and historic re-creations -- and you have what is recognized as “one of the best a cappella choruses in the world”.

The BAC has performed their uniquely exciting repertoire – with a full complement of choreography – for appreciative audiences throughout North America and – has served many as the centerpiece for their annual fund raising events. Its annual September 11th commemoratory performances on the steps of the New York City Library stop traffic and soothe heavy hearts.

Its place as the ornaments on the South Street Seaport’s Singing Chorus Tree– is a true New York City Major Holiday Attraction. Frankly – it just doesn’t get more diverse or rewarding or more enjoyable then this --- anywhere.

So – “come on down” – or up – or whatever. It all starts around mid-afternoon -- almost every Monday of the year -- as all of our BACmen start thinking about a fabulous evening of harmony and fellowship. They are - -after all – the one and only Big Apple Chorus -- and – they’re all looking forward to meeting – you.  Return to Home Page
