Exciting, enthusiastic, and always entertaining, Reveille qualified for the BHS International barbershop competition in its very first year, and is the 2002 Mid-Atlantic District quartet champions. A versatile quartet, Reveille commands a repertoire remarkable in its variety, ranging from traditional ballads, to original comedy, to Sinatra, to contemporary swing, and featuring hot charts from a variety of top arrangers, many from the fertile brain of tenor Roger Payne. 'Round Midnight is a quartet that consists of musicians from the Manhattan/Long Island area of New York. The quartet formed in late 2004 and has been entertaining audiences all over the Tri-State area ever since. All four men are music teachers. The first year for 'Round Midnight has been a whirlwind in which they tied for first place in the Mid-Atlantic District's Northern Division contest, finished top 10 at the M-AD District contest, and headlined various shows for Barbershop Harmony Society and Sweet Adelines International chapters as well as non-barbershop shows. The Harmony Sweeps is a premier American showcase for all forms of contemporary vocal harmony music and not associated with the Barbershop Harmony Society. The New York Regional competition (one of 8 regional competitions held throughout the United States) will qualify its single winner be flown to perform in front of celebrity judges and a sold out house of enthusiastic a cappella fans at the National Finals to be held in San Raffel CA on May 6th.

For more than a couple of its members, the experience of the Big Apple Chorus goes beyond the music, the fun, the friendships and "personal bests" but is additionally layered with strong family ties. In the case between father and son barbershop singers, it's usually the father who introduces the son to the chapter where they sing together.
This month's Spotlight on the "Men in BAC" features a father and son team whose musical journey started traditionally enough, but it was ultimately the son who brought his very reluctant dad to the Big Apple.
