Once again the Big Apple Chorus is proud and delighted to have been engaged by the management of New York's historic South Street Seaport to grace the landmark Fulton Market Square with holiday music. The BAC will be the featured performers on the giant living Christmas tree (the first of the trees to be formally lighted in the city) for the holidays. The shows will be hosted by no less than jolly St. Nick himself. Santa will, once again, be ready with plenty of candy canes for children young and old!
Starting Nov. 26th and each Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Christmas Eve, the BAC will perform two shows daily (Fri. at 6 and 7PM, Sat. and Sun. at 3 and 4PM) at the outdoor square at Fulton and Water St. (Inside the pier 17 mall on rain days). Dress warmly and take in the seasonal glow of the heart of old New York.
During these performances, representatives of the Big Apple Chorus will be available with information for men and woman who want to sing. The Big Apple Chorus holiday CD, The Chorus Tree Collection will be available for purchase.

I was born in Germany's Black Forest on a midwinter night and grew up in various countries of Europe and South America. I suppose you can say that I've been around the block and seen a few things. When I recently moved to New York to expand my professional experience, I knew I was likely to find unique and astonishing things but I never expected to discover what I did, when I first walked into the Norman Thomas High School on a Monday, a couple of months ago: A Barbershop Chorus! Now you can tune into a universe of vocal a cappella performed in every imaginable style, from various countries and from ancient to new age. Four live shows can be heard every weekday (except Friday) beginning at 7PM on line on the Harmony Network, and, on radio in the area surrounding Montclair New Jersey on WVRM 1620 AM and 91.9 FM.

In 1960, while Car 54 and Andy of Mayberry paraded the occasional barbershop quartet across the small screen and the impressionable eyes of the nation, this month's featured BACman, wrapped in awe and diapers, was taking it all in!
Almost every kid wants to be a policeman and those who grew up in the boroughs in the early 60s also wanted to sing doo-wop. "How can I have it all?" is what must have been going through the nascent mind of future BACman Vincent Haynes.
